Jean Renault現(xiàn)任法國奧爾良大學教授, 主要研究方向為動力系統(tǒng)和算子代數(shù). 研究成果包括群胚C*-代數(shù)的結構、群胚及其C*-代數(shù)的Morita等價、拓撲群胚的順從性、Radon-Nikodym上鏈的研究、C*-代數(shù)的Cartan子代數(shù)的概念和Hilbert叢上的仿射群胚作用. Jean Renault教授的博士論文《A Groupoid Approach to C*-algebras》現(xiàn)已成為研究群胚C*-代數(shù)的基本文獻。

講座簡介:

I will illustrate the use of groupoids in the study of KMS states and weights on C*-algebras. The KMS condition, which was introduced in quantum statistical mechanics to characterize equilibrium states, plays a crucial role in the theory of von Neumann algebras. The study of KMS states and their phase transitions on specific C*-algebras, in particular graph algebras, is an active field of research where the groupoid techniques are well adapted.
