講座人簡(jiǎn)介:Ping Fu is Professor and Head of Library Technology Services in the Brooks Library at Central Washington University (CWU) where he has been a tenured and tenure track (TT/T) faculty member since 2011. Reporting to the Dean of the Libraries, Ping is responsible for the overall administration of the Systems department and the oversight of the other areas of Library Technologies. Prior to joining the CWU Library, Ping worked as Systems Head at Singapore Management University Library (2009-2011) and Systems Librarian (tenure track) at Yale University Library (2007-2009). Ping received his ALA accredited MLIS degree, a terminal degree for librarians, Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS, 2003) from McGill University. He also holds M.A. in East Asian Studies (2001, McGill University), M.A. in Computer Science (1992, Shanghai University), and B.A in Computer Science (1985, Northwestern Polytechnical University). Ping’s research interests lie in the area of Digital Library (DL), Integrated Library Systems (ILS) & Library Service Platforms (LSP), Institutional Repository (IR), Digitization and Digital Preservation (DDP), Library Information Technology and Immigrant Culture. Ping has published several peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Information Technologies and Libraries, a top kernel academic library journal in the world, and other peer-reviewed academic journals. He has also presented as invited speaker at various national & international conferences. Ping also serves as peer reviewer for the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education, the Journal of Librarianship and Scholarly Communication, and the CALA International Journal of Librarianship. Ping is a member of ALA /LITA and life member of CALA. He currently serves as a member of LITA Education Committee, Co-chair of CALA Scholarship Committee, and Co-Chair of CALA Mentorship Program Committee. He was the chair of the ALA/LITA OCLC/LSSI Minority Scholarship Committee (2010-11). Ping serves as CWU Systems Representative at the Orbis Cascade Alliance (OCA) and Library Representative at the university Academic Technology Advisory Council (ATAC).
